Company Description
We are TBC - the leading financial institution in the region, powered by a courageous and goal-oriented team that fulfills our mission and makes people’s lives easier.
We are setting a new standard of service using data analytics, artificial intelligence, and digital products.
We’re here to support your growth and success - just believe in yourself.
Job Description
TBC Group is expanding its sustainability agenda across its markets, and Uzbekistan is one of its most important and fastest-growing directions. We are looking for an ESG Specialist to join the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Department and take responsibility for ESG and climate-related matters of TBC Uzbekistan (TBC UZ).
The ESG Specialist will be the key link between TBC Bank’s ESG Competence Center, TBC Group and TBC UZ. The role covers the implementation of the TBC Group and TBC Uzbekistan ESG Strategies in Uzbekistan, alignment with the ESG-related requirements of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan (CBU), the assessment of climate-related risks and opportunities, including climate stress testing, and the management and coordination of ESG projects across the Group.
This is a new direction for the Group and for the Uzbek market. Many of the frameworks, regulations and tools in this area are still being developed, so the role offers an exceptional opportunity to learn, build expertise from the ground up and shape how ESG is embedded in a fast-growing financial business. We value curiosity, analytical rigour and a willingness to learn as much as existing experience.
Key functions and responsibilities

- Supports the implementation of the TBC Group ESG Strategy, policies and programmes in TBC UZ, adapting them to the local business model, market and regulatory context.
- Works with TBC UZ management and the responsible ESG functions to translate Group-level ESG objectives into a local action plan with clear targets, owners and timelines.
- Identifies material ESG issues specific to TBC UZ, considering environmental impact, social responsibility and governance practices, and supports the materiality assessment process.
- Supports the integration of ESG considerations into TBC UZ business decisions, product development, lending and investment processes and supply chain management.
- Identifies opportunities for improved ESG governance, performance, accountability and disclosure in TBC UZ and advises on ESG-related governance structures and practices.
- Supports TBC UZ business units in developing products, services and instruments with positive ESG impact (e.g. green, sustainable and social lending and financing products).
- Promotes diversity, equity and inclusion and responsible business practices within the organisation.
- Local regulation and CBU requirements
- Monitors, analyses and interprets ESG-, sustainability- and climate-related regulations, guidelines and expectations of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan (CBU) and other relevant Uzbek authorities.
- Tracks national sustainability policy developments in Uzbekistan, including green economy, green taxonomy and sustainable finance initiatives, and assesses their implications for TBC UZ.
- Conducts gap analyses between local regulatory requirements, Group standards and international best practice, and proposes and coordinates the actions needed to close the gaps.
- Supports the TBC UZ functions responsible for compliance with ESG regulations and ESG reporting obligations, and prepares input for regulatory submissions and dialogue with the regulator where required.
- Keeps TBC Group and the ESG Competence Center informed of regulatory changes in Uzbekistan and their impact on Group-level policies and disclosures.
- Climate risks and opportunities, and climate stress testing
- Assesses TBC UZ’s exposure to climate-related risks, both physical (e.g. heat, drought, water stress, extreme weather) and transition (e.g. policy, technology, market and reputational changes), and identifies related business opportunities.
- Supports the integration of climate and environmental risks into TBC UZ’s risk management framework, credit processes, risk appetite and internal capital planning, in cooperation with Risk Management functions.
- Supports the design and execution of climate scenario analysis and climate stress testing for TBC UZ portfolios, using recognised scenarios (e.g. NGFS), and helps interpret and communicate the results.
- Contributes to the collection and analysis of data on financed emissions and portfolio carbon intensity, using recognised methodologies (e.g. PCAF), and to the development of climate-related metrics and targets.
- Supports the development of strategies to mitigate climate risks, improve resilience and promote sustainable practices among clients and within the bank’s own operations.
- Contributes to the environmental and social (E&S) risk management process for TBC UZ in line with Group policies and the requirements of international financial institutions (IFIs).

- Supports the development of the ESG reporting and data analysis system, including data definitions, controls and data flows between TBC UZ and the Group.
- Supports the preparation of ESG-related reporting to IFIs, investors and other partners, ensuring accuracy, consistency and transparency.
- Project management and coordination
- Acts as the main coordination point between TBC Bank’s ESG Competence Center, TBC Group and TBC UZ on all ESG and climate-related matters.
- Plans, manages and monitors ESG projects and initiatives for TBC UZ: defines scope, timelines, responsibilities and deliverables, tracks progress and reports on status, risks and results.
